When does a DWI become a felony DWI?

If you're like a lot of our readers who have received a DWI in their lifetime, you probably don't want to incur another drunk-driving conviction. That's because you likely know that multiple DWI convictions can escalate penalties and can even lead to time in a state prison. Most people want to avoid this negative outcome, which oftentimes means learning as much as they can about the law so that they don't violate it down the road.

New York basketball fans had to do without Brooklyn Nets coach Jason Kidd for two games at the start of the season. He was suspended by the NBA after pleading guilty to a charge of driving while intoxicated. Analysts expected the suspension as well as its length because other players and coaches had been given the same penalty after convictions or pleas on drunk driving charges.

She has been scheduled for a Sept. 24 appearance at the Nassau County 1st District Court.

The truck then came across the median and hit the woman's vehicle directly.
