Reporter charged with DWI and leaving the scene

A reporter for a New York daily tabloid was taken into custody on July 20 after police determined that he had left the scene of an accident. The 32-year-old man was subsequently charged with driving while intoxicated after a breath test administered at a Manhattan police station allegedly revealed his blood alcohol level to be .211 percent, more than double the legal limit.

Man facing several charges after New York traffic stop

A 27-year-old man was taken into custody after he was observed driving erratically on Post Avenue in Nassau County at about 11:18 p.m. on July 17. The man was driving a 2001 Honda, and police say that there was a 3-week-old baby in an unrestrained child seat at the time.

Implied consent laws and breath test refusals

In New York, a man is facing new DWI charges following a three-car crash that claimed the life of one woman and caused her husband to be seriously injured. The couple's 23-year-old son was also hurt in the accident, which happened on June 26. According to sources, the alleged drunk driver had previously been charged with DWI in 2006.
